Day 40: Hooker trail

Natalie had been dying to take us to Mt. Cook for some biking and hiking. We were too nervous to go mountain biking but the hike was more our speed. So we headed out for about an hour drive towards Aoraki/ Mt. Cook, the tallest peak in New Zealand. Aoraki means Cloud Piercer in the native language.

We were unsure which trail to do but ultimately decided on the Hooker Trail, which has beautiful views of the glaciers and takes you over 3 suspension bridges.

Their neighbors have a small farm with alpacas, sheep, and one cute goat. We lured them over with a banana. It actually worked.

We ended the night with another epic game of Phase 10. Matt won. We’ll get our revenge next time. We paid it forward again and left Natalie and Matt with the game since they enjoyed it so much.
