We started the day, again, walking to catch the bus #12 to go to Piazzale Michelangelo. After waiting for 30 min we realized that bus might not be operating during the week. We decided to head to the Piazzale by foot – 30 some minutes away and up a mountain. We definitely need to go back to the gym.

After walking around the top of the mountain and absorbing the view of Florence we waited for the bus # 13 to go back down. Nevermind again. This bus was not going to work for us. So we walked back down. Feet throbbing.
We finally arrived at the Galleria Uffizi. By now, we’re on a tight schedule. Walk in, beautiful paintings, busts, sculptures, more beautiful paintings and WOW – The Birth of Venus by Botticelli.
Galleria Uffizi: Venus
The sun is setting and we need to get to the Galleria Dell’Accademia to see the David before they close. Our feet keep throbbing but we most see the David.
It was impressive. The subtlety of the movement, the curves, the shadows. Absolutely breathtaking. We’re glad we had our new camera to play with the B&W shadows, etc. I think they turned out pretty good.

Ended our visit at Galleria through the Plaster Room. Here they showed how sculptors would make their sketches in plaster first, measure and then transfer to marble. The small black dots are the markers for the measurements.

…. and had to take a snap of the cute little angel butt. Ciao Florence!
