Day 21: Sleeping Bali

We arrived today after 17 hours of flight, bodies aching and two days of no sleep. No biggie, we are in Bali.

When we arrived, our driver was waiting for us ready to take us to our hotel – one hour away from the airport. Everywhere you looked there were impressive temples, sculptures of Gods and Goddesses. Our eyes were everywhere, temples, statues and of course, every possible crafting shop building all the “antique” furniture we see in expensive stores in the US.

We were in and out of sleep during the drive. Trying to keep our eyes open to see all the beautiful culture but our bodies were not responding. We finally made it to our room around 11am and we crashed!

Alarm clock for 2 hours, that should be enough. We must see Bali. Nope. We finally woke up at 4:30pm. Rolled off our bed, showered in our temple bathroom and went outside for a walk.

We ended up eating in the cutest little temple house of a Chef Cook (as the sign indicated) and when we sat it started pouring. Our waitress brought our food covered with a huge umbrella. Water running down the small hallway out to the street.

After a delicious dinner. Our bodies were ready for a massage – next door in the Glory Spa (yes, that’s the name). I have to say, best massage ever!

Now it’s 10pm. Time to crash again, to sleep Bali some more.
