It’s Monday and we’re back at work – from Sydney offices. We started our day trying to figure out our way around the train system but got to work without issues. The public transportation here in Sydney is super easy to follow – M for Metro, T for Train, B for bus, F for Ferry. Easy right?
Morningstar is current located in Australia Square – Sydney’s first skyscraper and the world’s tallest lightweight concrete building – 45 stories tall.
And Marissa’s office is tiny and cute with only 18 employees. And only 5 min away from my office. Very convenient for lunch.
After work, we took the Ferry and made our way to our Airbnb in Manly. It looked lovely at first, gorgeous view, but no AC, Fan or anything. We must point out that the day before it had been the hottest day in Sydney in 75 years – 120F. Today wasn’t too bad, just around 105F.
We opened all the windows and went for dinner at The Ivanhoe Hotel in Manly.
After dinner, we made our way back to our Airbnb and found ROACHES!!!!!! were crawling over our floor and over our luggage. EW. Apparently these little critters are common in Australia during the summer time and since it’s been 110 degrees, they needed a place to crash. Our place. Yay.
That night was weird, hot, trying to catch a bit of breeze from each window, and lifting our feet for fear of getting pet by one of those visitors. We finally fell asleep and woke up to the biggest thunderstorm we’ve ever heard.
The thunder was so loud that at one point Marissa literally levitated off the bed and landed half-way on top of me. That night, we made the decision to cancel our Airbnb and move to a hotel in the city. We needed a place where we could be well rested in order to go to work the next day.
Best decision ever! Bye bye Manly – and roaches.
